Miguel Almiron and Jack Grealish clash and Newcastle ace ‘lucky not to get yellow card’ after ‘diving in’ on Man City star

It didn’t take long for tensions to flare between Miguel Almiron and Jack Grealish in Newcastle’s trip to Manchester City.
All eyes were on the early kick-off as Man City looked to close the five-point gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal, but fans were equally as intrigued about a battle between two of the game’s stars.

Almiron put in a tackle on Grealish in the first half and fans were loving it
City had already gone 1-0 up thanks to Phil Foden, with Newcastle failing to close down the winger as he danced through their penalty area to stick his shot into the back of the net.
Soon after, Man City were on the counter attack through Grealish, with the winger pacing down the line on the hunt to double his side’s lead.
But Grealish’s advance was cut out by none other than Almiron – a player he’s got a tasty past with.
“He’s lucky not to get a yellow card with the way he stopped that counter-attack,” talkSPORT’s commentator and ex-England star Dean Ashton said live from the Etihad Stadium.
“Grealish did really well, he got the ball and cut across Almiron and he’s dived in on him there.”
And Grealish was fuming as the Toon star got away with his tackle, too, as he raised his arms in the air in frustration.

The pair have plenty of history after Grealish cracked a joke about the Magpies star during Man City’s Premier League title celebrations last season, joking that Bernardo Silva ‘played like Almiron’.
In November, the Toon star insisted he had no issue with Grealish, whilst the Man City ace has also admitted he regrets making the jibe.
But after that first interaction on Saturday afternoon, fans are still keen to see how their battle continues for the rest of the game.
“All here for the Almiron/Grealish revenge tour,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Meanwhile another supporter said: “That Almiron challenge on Grealish was personal!”
Man City went on to win the game 2-0, as Bernardo Silva came on to double the title challenger’s advantage.
