Catherine, Princess of Wales, is no stranger to re-wearing ensembles. Just over the weekend, she made an appearance in the red-and-white houndstooth coat she wore in 2018. But now, it seems as if the royal is also using herself for outfit inspiration.
Earlier today, Kate accompanied Prince William for a visit to the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards in Windsor, where they took part in a parade to celebrate St. David’s Day, a day of national celebration for Wales. For the celebratory occasion, the stylish royal opted for her signature red Alexander McQueen coat (seemingly in honor of the Welsh flag) and paired it with black leather driving gloves from Serbian brand EVICA, heeled boots, and a Mulberry top-handle bag. She wore her hair in an intricate braided updo and completed the look with a black fascinator by Juliette Botterill Millinery.

As eagle-eyed royal fans quickly pointed out, the princess’s ensemble from today looked very similar to the one she wore to William’s Sandhurst graduation back in 2006. For that event, Kate wore a red coat with a black outfit and matching boots. She also paired the look with the EVICA gloves and completed the look with a black hat.
The St. David’s Day Parade marked the Prince of Wales’s first visit to the Welsh Guards since becoming the ceremonial Colonel of the Welsh Guards. It was announced in December that he would be taking over the role from his father, King Charles. Matching the troops in a gray military uniform, William said in a short speech that he was “honored and delighted” to be their new colonel.

“At the same time, I’m sorry that my father couldn’t be here with us here today to say farewell,” William said, “but I know he would talk of his fierce pride and admiration for you all, and of his own sadness to be moving on from an appointment he held so dear since 1975.”
