Justin Trudeau and Doug Ford to meet today in Mississauga

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford are meeting Monday after Ottawa and Queen’s Park finalized a new health-care funding accord last week.
In Mississauga, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Doug Ford make an announcement and take questions from reporters. They are joined by federal ministers Jean-Yves Duclos (health) and Kamal Khera (seniors), and provincial ministers Sylvia Jones (health) and Vic Fedeli (economic development, job creation and trade). The news conference comes one week after the federal government announced it had reached an agreement in principle with Ontario on a new health-care deal.
Trudeau and Ford will be together at a Mississauga pharmaceutical facility where they are expected to discuss future domestic vaccine development.
The meeting comes after they concluded Ontario’s part in a new 10-year arrangement that will boost the share of federal funding for health care.
Earlier this month, the provincial and territorial leaders accepted Trudeau’s $46.2-billion proposal to boost Ottawa’s contribution to the 13 health-care systems across the country.
