Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson had a historic game on Friday night.
On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors are hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
They are coming off an impressive 116-101 victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday night (at home).
During the game, Klay Thompson was sensational and had 42 points, seven rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes of playing time.
Even more impressive, the five-time NBA All-Star didn’t make a two-point field goal (he only made threes).
According to Warriors on NBCS, that was the most points ever scored without making a two-point shot in NBA history.
The other four highest games without making a two-point shot are Joe Dumars (40 points), Davis Bertans (35 points), Bojan Bogdanovic (35 points) and Malik Beasley (33 points).
Thompson shot 12/17 from the three-point range, and he also made NBA history by becoming the first player to make 12+ threes in a game twice in a season.
Earlier this month, the four-time NBA Champion shot 12/16 from the three-point range against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After missing two seasons in a row due to injuries, Thompson returned to the floor in the middle of last year and helped the Warriors win their fourth title in the previous eight seasons.
Right now, he is averaging 21.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest in 48 games.
He is also shooting 42.6% from the field and 40.8% from the three-point range.
The Warriors (30-30) came into the night in the middle of a three-way tie for the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
