Manchester United beat Newcastle in Sunday’s EFL Cup final to win their first trophy under Erik ten Hag.
Casemiro headed the Red Devils in front at Wembley from a pinpoint Luke Shaw free-kick in the 33rd minute.
It was 2-0 six minutes later after Marcus Rashford’s shot beat keeper Loris Karius via a deflection off Sven Botman.
Rashford celebrated as if he had scored his 25th club goal of the season.
But it was officially recorded as a Botman own goal.
Man United have now won the EFL Cup six times. Only Liverpool (8) and Manchester City (9) have won the tournament more often.

Sunday’s victory saw the Old Trafford outfit win their first piece of major silverware since 2017.
Meanwhile, Newcastle’s trophy drought goes on. The Magpies have still not won a major title since 1955.
Ten Hag’s first United trophy came in his 40th match in charge.
His team have won 29 of those games, giving Ten Hag 72.5% win-rate.
