According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Milwaukee Bucks are signing Meyers Leonard.

Meyers Leonard has not played in an NBA game since 2021 when he was on the Miami Heat.

On Monday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the former Illinois star will sign a ten-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Via Wojnarowski: “ESPN Sources: Free agent F/C Meyers Leonard — out of the NBA since March 2021 after uttering an antisemitic slur on a video game livestream and rehabbing post-surgical nerve damage on his right leg — is signing a 10-day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks.”

Leonard 30-years-old and in 2020 he started 49 games for the Heat with averages of 6.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest.

He also played two games in the NBA Finals that season.

Before the Heat, Leonard spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Over 447 regular season games, the former 11th overall pick has career averages of 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds on a very impressive 48.2% shooting from the field and 39.0% from the three-point range.

For the Bucks, this is a good risk to take, because it’s only a ten-day contract so there is no long-term risk.
