Casualty fans predict shock exit for Robyn MillerBBC

Casualty spoilers follow.

Casualty fans saw a glimmer of joy for Robyn Miller (Amanda Henderson) in last night’s (February 18) episode, as she proposed to partner Paul Pegg (Paul Popplewell). The proposal though comes with plans for a move away from Holby City, leaving some fans to wonder if the soap is losing yet another character.

In recent scenes, Robyn initially rejected the idea of marriage, so when Paul got down on one knee she shut him down before he could even ask the question. Except, he wasn’t actually considering marriage, but if she wanted to move back to Wigan with him.

Touched by efforts he had gone to for them to have a fresh start, Robyn reconsidered committing to Paul and proposed to him instead. Their happy news also came with her agreeing to move away together.

Fans on social media were quick to voice their concern over another potential departure from the show, with one writing: “Casualty is haemorrhaging characters. Every week they say they’re short staffed then someone else quits without serving out a month’s notice. Bye bye Ethan, bye bye Robyn…”

“Aw no, Robyn is leaving Casualty (crying emoji),” added another, whilst a third shared: “That was a beautiful moment between Robyn and Paul. I’m sad she is leaving though.”

Among the messages of sadness at the possible exit, some called for Robyn’s final scenes to include Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson), who has been a major part of the character’s arc over the years.

Neither Henderson or the BBC have commented on the speculation yet, so we shall have to wait and see if Robyn will achieve her happy ending away from our screens.

Recently, George Rainsford left the ED after playing Dr Ethan Hardy for 9 years, telling Digital Spy that the decision came down to both personal and professional reasons. Alongside the long commute to work in Cardiff every day, Rainsford added that he is interested in exploring new projects: “I felt that maybe while Ethan was a bit quieter on storylines, it would be nice to have a break and sort of see what else is out there.”

Meanwhile, fan favourite nurse David Hide is also due to leave the emergency wards in the near future after 6 years, with actor Jason Durr stating: “I’ve forged firm friendships, learnt to pronounce Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty and had my squeamishness thoroughly challenged! Here’s to new adventures (hopefully with less blood and guts).”

Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
