Paul Rudd Hands Out Cookies in the Rain to New York Voters Waiting in Line to Cast Early Ballots

Paul Rudd is doing his part to make the early voting line a little sweeter.
The 51-year-old actor joined voters waiting in line at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to hand out cookies to those waiting to cast their early ballots — in the rain.
In footage shared on Twitter by Guster drummer Brian Rosenworcel, Rudd was seen handing out cookies from the popular sweets store Milk Bar and posing with voters in line, despite heavy rain that prompted many to hold up umbrellas.
Wearing a face mask and plastic gloves to protect against the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Avengers star can be heard saying, “I want to say thank you for coming out and voting and doing your part,” to people in line.

Croatian Football Fan Group Celebrates 70th Anniversary With Stunning Fireworks Display
Torcida, the famous fan group for Croatia’s soccer club Hajduk Split, took a break from celebrating their beloved team to acknowledge their own 70th anniversary on October 28 by lighting up Split’s night sky with a display of fireworks and flares. Split resident Josip Balic captured drone footage of the midnight event, showcasing the vastness of the celebration, perhaps second only to the fireworks-and-flares display in 2011 when the Hajduk Split football club turned 100. Torcida – founded to foster the same kind of spirited support Croatians witnessed in Brazilian fans during the 1950 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro – is the oldest fan club in Europe. Noisy Neighbor No Problem for Serene Bat
A noisy neighbor can be difficult to ignore but a calm approach to the problem was the key for one bat while it was under the care of Queensland woman Denise Wade. Wade, who has been caring for injured baby bats for over a decade at her home in Rochedale South, regularly shares updates on the animals to her Batzilla the Bat Facebook page and other social channels. The update featured above includes a bat by the name of Ashley who, according to Wade, was “very close to death” in the week leading up to recording the footage (which was shared to YouTube on September 19). Ashely looks to be bursting with health though, happily flapping while hanging from a cage, though Ashley’s cage-mate, known as Master Rep, is an altogether calmer individual. The bat barely makes a move as it hangs nearby while Ashley makes a racket. Posting the footage to YouTube, Wade wrote, “Just like any other mammalian species, flying-fox babies are individuals with very individual needs. Some are big flappers, others not so much but all spend some time flapping.” She added, “As our orphans mature, more time is spent flapping in preparation for the day between 8 and 12 weeks of age when all that practice culminates in the first flight. Rudd’s act of kindness quickly went viral online, with many others who were present sharing photos and videos with the actor — and their cookies.
“Paul Rudd is handing out cookies to early voters voting in the rain @ Barclay’s Center. I like him x100 more,” one voter shared on Twitter along with a selfie with the AntMan star. Another added, “Paul Rudd, love of my life, is standing outside Barclays Center right now thanking early voters for showing up in the rain and handing out cookies.#VOTE”

Last week, Rudd and several of his Marvel costars assembled for a virtual fundraiser in support of Joe Biden.
In addition to Rudd, the Biden campaign’s “Voters Assemble” event featured Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, and Zoë Saldana for some Marvel trivia and a question and answer session.
The voters in Brooklyn on Thursday are among the more than 80 million Americans to cast an early ballot ahead of Election Day on November 3 — which is more than 58 percent of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election, according to the U.S. Elections Project.
