Declan Rice will leave West Ham United in the summer, that much is for sure, but what’s not for sure at the moment is which club the midfielder will join.

Chelsea have been interested for a long time and it was always thought to be the logical choice for Rice considering his time at the club before, but Arsenal’s emergence may have swung the pendulum.

Both clubs now lead the race for the West Ham star.

According to David Ornstein of the Athletic, Arsenal and Chelsea lead the race for Declan Rice currently.

The belief is that Rice has a desire to stay in London, and Arsenal and Chelsea are both heavily interested in making a move for the player.

Arsenal are thought to be favourites right now and Champions League football may win the Gunner’s the race at the end of the season .

Chelsea have been clear even after signing Enzo Fernandez that their goal was always to sign two high profile midfielders to strengthen the squad. That was never more clear when they allowed Jorginho to leave the club.

It will be between Moises Caicedo and Declan Rice for Chelsea in the summer, and it will be interesting to see which type of midfielder they end up going for in the end after they pursued Caicedo in January.

The clubs battled for Mykhailo Mudryk and Caicedo this January, and they are expected to be locked in another battle in the summer for Declan Rice.
