Who would have thought this day would ever come? Jungkook is fiercely protective of his privacy. In fact, the BTS singer had been on a social media hiatus for a while now, before finally breaking the internet with his latest LIVE broadcast. That too with a tattoo tour of his body!

For those of you living under a rock, Jungkook went LIVE on Weverse first, followed by an Instagram LIVE with none other than V. But, turns out their joint shenanigans were far from the highlight of the entire night. Especially when a full breakdown of his ink is involved.

Yep, that’s right! The golden maknae finally took out the time to sit down and explain each and every tattoo to ARMY, making sure they are well aware that every little ink on his arm has a meaning behind it. And of course, he started off with his iconic ARMY tattoo.

Jungkook explains his ARMY tattoo

Explaining the story behind his first tattoo, he stated, “First of all I’ve got ARMY here and this is the first tattoo I ever got. ARMY is like someone who’s dignified to me, and someone I’m so proud of, so it made no sense to be putting ARMY in a place where I can’t see it. So somehow it ended up he- I mean cause, at the beginning, this ARMY was the only tattoo I wanted to get.”

He also went on to say that he wanted the font to be a little more splendid than this one, but oh well!

Jungkook explains the tattoos on his hand

His love for ARMY is truly evident when he mentioned the ARMY logo and the purple heart, all signs of BTS’ love for their beloved fans. He even put a crown over the A in ARMY, while the J on his finger stands for his name JK. His middle finger has an emoticon, which he explained is his favourite one.

“This one’s our 0613, I bet you all already know what it is,” he stated later. And if you are wondering, it is the date BTS debuted.

Jungkook explains his sleeve tattoo

Moving up to his forearm, there are tons of tattoos on his arms, all with a deep meaning. First up he had the date he came to Seoul tattooed on his forearm, along with two wise sayings crisscrossing each other. They read – Rather be dead than cool and Make hay while the sun shines.

Explaining in his own words that he was meant to be on stage, he further stated, “And this clock tattoo over here! This shows the time of my birth, I think I was born at around 3:25? 3:23? So, this clock connects here to the mic and the music note. It implies that I was destined, born to be a singer.”

He also has his birth flower, the Tiger Flower, along with the phrase “Please love me” written behind it. That is followed by Chinese letters signifying Hwayangyeonha (HYYH or The Most Beautiful Moment in Life) and another design inspired by traditional Korean paintwork, dancheong, all near his elbow.

Jungkook’s cover-up tattoos

Every tattoo lover knows that mistakes are all too common when getting inked. But, there’s nothing a cover-up tattoo can’t fix, of course!

Opening up about his ordeal with one of the tattoos, he said, “The clouds… I think it was when we were in the U.S? Or somewhere overseas? It was this tattoo place I went looking for and wow… that person was not on the same page as me. It hurt way too much and it was during the filming of ON MV, that part of my skin was completely rotten and inflamed too. It was on my elbow pit, so it dries and then when I stretch it in and out again ugh it was such a mess. I went through a lot with that one.. so he (new tattooist) turned them into clouds. And the lightning bolts, I just got these cause I had clouds in here too.”

And then comes the eye!

Ardent JK fans may already be aware that he had an eye on his forearm. Turns out, he got rid of it because people tended to not like it. “Since people disliked it a lot, I covered it up with this bulletproof here, I changed it to BTS,” he stated. He covered the three parallel lines on his arm with a snake due to the same reason.
