Matt McMahon speaks on Texas Tech loss

LSU’s losing streak hit eight on Saturday as Matt McMahon’s group experiences growing pains in Year 1.

Texas Tech got the 78-68 win in Baton Rouge.

“We didn’t do a good enough job in the last nine minutes to give ourselves an opportunity to win,” McMahon said after the game. “And that’s the most disappointing part of it.”

LSU was competitive, but let it slip away late.

“The attention to detail in the scouting report, running three-point shooters off the line, finishing possessions with defensive rebounds, and taking care of basketball — all of those things have to be done at a higher level as we move forward,” McMahon added.

He also offered praise to guard Adam Miller.

Miller’s 20 points were a team-high for LSU. That included going five for 10 from deep. Next up for LSU is a trip to Missouri. According to KenPom, LSU isn’t projected to win a game until hosting South Carolina on Feb. 18.
