Tottenham receive Porro transfer boost

Sporting Lisbon are weighing up an offer for Heerenveen full-back Milan van Ewijk as a potential replacement for Tottenham target Pedro Porro, report the Daily Mail.

However, the Portuguese side face potential competition from Premier League sides Southampton, Wolves and Fulham while PSV Eindhoven have also made an enquiry.

Tottenham have made Sporting right-back Porro their main target for this window. The Portuguese have been previously pointing to his buy-out clause of £40million but it is understood there may be a softening in their stance if Tottenham can reach £30m plus bonuses.

Palace rival Everton for winger

Crystal Palace have made contact with Villarreal over the signing of Everton target Arnaut Danjuma, according to The Athletic.

However the Toffees are seemingly closing in on a deal for Danjuma, who has fallen out of favour at Villarreal since Unai Emery left for Aston Villa.

The Daily Mail believe the £34,000-a-week man has already completed his medical on Merseyside, and despite Lampard being hugely influential in convincing the forward to join, the deal will still go ahead despite his sacking.

Crystal Palace are also in talks with VfB Stuttgart over a deal to sign Naouirou Ahamada, but asked about Danjuma as Patrick Vieira targets a winger to improve his squad.

Chelsea return with Fernandez offer

Chelsea are preparing to launch another huge transfer bid for Enzo Fernandez – with Real Madrid and Barcelona waiting in the wings.

The midfielder has been heavily linked to the London club ever since his outstanding World Cup with Argentina.

After Benfica successfully rebuffed Chelsea’s initial attempts to sign him, it now appears they have another battle on their hands.

The Record newspaper in Portugal report on their front page that Chelsea are preparing to launch a 100m euros – or £88m – bid for the star.

Inside Ronaldo – Mendes break-up

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly demanded super agent Jorge Mendes secure him a move to either Bayern Munich or Chelsea last summer – before the potential deals collapsed after both clubs were alarmed the star had missed the start of pre-season training.

Ronaldo split from Mendes last year, with the final straw in their longstanding relationship coming when he conducted his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

A report by Spanish newspaper El Mundo reveals Ronaldo had issued Mendes with an ultimatum last summer as the star desperately sought a move away from United following the club’s failure to secure Champions League football.

“Bayern, Chelsea or we break up,” Ronaldo reportedly demanded, with the command coming ‘after Jorge Mendes expressed to Cristiano his disagreement with many of his decisions in recent years, the first being to leave Real Madrid’.

Arsenal chase young right-back

Arsenal have matched Borussia Dortmund’s £13million offer for Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda.

The 18-year-old is expected to make his decision over the next 24 hours and will be loaned back for the season.

However, Dortmund believe they hold an edge with the career pathway they can promise the teenager.

Arsenal consider signing Everton star

Arsenal and Newcastle United are both interested in Amadou Onana as they position themselves to rival Chelsea for the Everton midfielder.

That’s according to Belgian transfer reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who has taken to Twitter to make claims about Onana’s future.

Tavolieri claims that an exit for Onana was ‘initially unthinkable’ but the exit of Frank Lampard on Monday and Everton’s financial situation means a deal could be done.
