Jim Goodwin: We will fight to turn it around after humiliating defeat to Darvel

Jim Goodwin, the beleaguered Aberdeen manager, insisted he will fight on for his job after their worst result in their 120-year history following their Scottish Cup defeat at sixth-tier Darvel. But the Irishman admitted he has been given no assurances for his job by chairman Dave Cormack, who was in Ayrshire watching his club’s humiliation.

The once-proud Dons suffered the biggest shock in the 149 year history of the competition when they lost 1-0 at Recreation Park to East Ayrshire side Darvel, with the West of Scotland Premier League leaders now set to play Falkirk in the next round.
