Then the first-down chain broke off one of the sideline markers with 9:37 remaining in the first quarter, after the Giants offense’s first play, causing an “administrative stoppage.”

The Giants now have their eyes set on the 2023 season.

Then Brian Daboll had to use his first timeout with 14 minutes left in the second quarter because one of Daniel Jones’ contact lenses popped out.

Then the Giants lost, 38-7, in a laugher.

What a night.

Giant-killing Eagles running back Boston Scott scored another TD against his favorite foe on Saturday, just a few days after DC Wink Martindale had contended “I don’t think he’s a Giant killer.” Scott has now scored 11 of his 18 career touchdowns against the Giants, including both regular season and playoffs. The FOX broadcast said that 61% TD conversion rate against one foe is the highest for any player in NFL history.

The Eagles showed Eli Manning sitting in his suite on the Jumbotron during the first half, and the entire stadium booed. Then they showed former Eagles Malcolm Jenkins and Brent Celek, and the fans cheered. Then they showed Manning again. As the fans booed, Manning raised his arms and pumped his fists with a smile. Then Philly showed former Eagle Torrey Smith to cheers.

Rookie Giants corner Cor’Dale Flott left the game with a hamstring injury.

Giants edge rusher Azeez Ojulari (quad) was active after being listed as questionable for the game, the only Giant player with an injury designation coming in.

Their inactive players were CB Rodarius Williams, LB Micah McFadden, DL Henry Mondeaux, G Jack Anderson, G Wyatt Davis and practice squad elevations WR Makai Polk and CB Zyon Gilbert.

The Eagles’ inactives were slot CB Avonte Maddox (toe), QB Ian Book, RB Trey Sermon, S Anthony Harris, LB Kyron Johnson and G Josh Sills.
