Dennis Schroder taking over in Los Angeles

Dennis #Dennis

A true Friday night in the NBA. Sure, we got some good finishes and excellent performances, but we also got a special episode of the greatest drama series in television. This episode featured a guest performance from Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe! If you missed it, you can check out the recap below.

The game ended up going down to the wire, with the Lakers beating the Grizzlies late, thanks to some heroics from Dennis Schröder. We also saw Franz Wagner light up the Pelicans, Dejounte Murray and Trae Young beat the Knicks and the short-handed Warriors win in Cleveland. Luka Dončić destroyed the Heat, Kawhi Leonard had his beset game of the season against his former team and Jamal Murray recorded his first career triple-double. Last but not least, Kyrie Irving ended Brooklyn’s skid with a 48-point night, while Keegan Murray had the best game of his young career to beat the Thunder. So many great games and performances, as there is every night in the NBA. Here are the players worth rostering that are widely available.

Dennis Schröder- 24% rostered in Yahoo! leagues

He hasn’t been the best fantasy asset this season, but Schroder was special on Friday night. He finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and came away with a clutch steal and layup to end the Grizzlies’ 11-game winning streak. Lonnie Walker should return to the lineup soon, but with how well Schroder has played, it’s hard to imagine that he loses his role. Darvin Ham seemed to prefer sticking with Patrick Beverley as the starter over Schroder in the past, so it’s possible that Schroder comes off the bench, but he should still play big minutes.

Caris LeVert- 47%

Donovan Mitchell has missed their last two games with a groin injury, and LeVert has started both. He has averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 blocks during those games. Cleveland plays Milwaukee on Saturday, so there’s a decent chance that Mitchell remains sidelined. If that’s the case, LeVert should be a safe streaming/DFS option.

Cedi Osman- 2%

He didn’t play much in Mitchell’s first absence, but Osman played 25 minutes off the bench on Friday and posted a 13/3/2 line with three 3-pointers. If Mitchell remains out, Osman should be a solid option in deeper leagues.

Jericho Sims- 6%

In the Knicks’ first game without Mitchell Robinson, Sims got the starting nod. He played 28 minutes and finished with 12 points (6-for-6 FGs), eight rebounds and two steals. Robinson is set to miss about three more weeks with a fractured right thumb, which makes Sims a must-add as long as he’s the starter. Isaiah Hartenstein (27% rostered) didn’t see much of a boost in this game, but we’ll see if Tom Thibodeau changes things up.

Reggie Bullock- 8%

After hitting four threes in their last game, Bullock added five more in this game. He has hit multiple threes in seven straight games now. He’s hitting shots, which means he’ll keep playing big minutes for Dallas. He has provided third round value over the past week because of how well he’s shot. He may not always shoot this well, but he’s hot right now.

Isaiah Joe- 2%

He’s been on fire the last two games, shooting 7-for-12 from deep in each outing. He has shown the ability to pour it in from deep this season, but he hasn’t always seen this many shot attempts. His role appears to be increasing, which makes him worth a roster spot.

Josh Richardson- 31%

Over the past two weeks, Richardson has provided top-50 value in 9-cat leagues. He has benefited from the absence of Devin Vassell, who won’t be back anytime soon. He’s not widely available, but he’s worth adding if he is.
