Manchester United saw their winning streak come to an end at Selhurst Park after a dramatic stoppage time equaliser from Michael Olise earned a point for Crystal Palace.

Scorers: Olise 90+1′; Fernandes 43′.

New signing Wout Weghorst was given his first start for United as Erik ten Hag’s side looked to make it 10 wins in a row following the late success in the Manchester derby on Saturday.

Luke Shaw saw an effort fizz past the post but it was Palace who came closest in the first half when Odsonne Édouard’s well-hit shot looked for all the world to be heading into the top corner before David de Gea pulled off a superb finger-tip save.

United went into half-time ahead with Christian Eriksen picking out Bruno Fernandes in the box and the Portuguese midfielder curled the ball into the corner to break the deadlock.

The visitors controlled the game for large periods in the second half but Palace threatened again out of the blue, this time De Gea equal to Marc Guehi’s header from a corner.

Ten Hag was then dealt a blow for the crunch clash with Arsenal at the weekend when midfielder Casemiro was booked after taking down Wilfried Zaha, meaning the Brazilian will miss the trip to the Emirates.

It looked as if United were going to head into that game just six points behind the league leaders before a dramatic late intervention.

Olise’s stunning free-kick beat De Gea and smashed the crossbar on it’s way into the back of the net to steal a point for the Eagles and bring United’s winning run to a surprise end.

Patrick Vieira’s side remain in 12th after the draw while United go level on points with Manchester City in third.
