Colin Farrell has left Golden Globes viewers swooning after he bounded over from his seat to lend Jennifer Coolidge a helping hand to the stage to receive her award.

Coolidge won a Golden Globe for the first time for her performance in the HBO series The White Lotus, and sparked laughter with her hilarious swear word-filled acceptance speech where she also spoiled the ending of season two.

As she stood up to receive her award, the 61-year-old began walking to collect the accolade when Farrell, 46, showed his chivalrous side and stood up from his seat at a table with the cast of The Banshees of Inisherin.

The Irish actor put out his arm to accompany the Legally Blonde star up the steps – and was caught on camera hilariously standing in front of a man whose job it was to help the winners up to the stage.

Taking to Twitter to weigh in on the moment, one viewer wrote: “Colin Farrell helping Jennifer Coolidge up the stage… he’s such a real one.”

“Colin Farrell with the gentleman escort for Jennifer Coolidge that’s hot,” another said.

A third quipped: “Colin Farrell PUSHED that man to help jennifer coolidge lmaoo”.

It’s not the only moment during the star-studded ceremony that got people talking, as many remarked on Farrell’s flirty exchange with Ana De Armas during his acceptance speech for Best Actor.

The Irish star, who picked up the gong for his role in the Martin McDonagh dramedy, told De Armas, 34, that her role as Marilyn Monroe in the biopic Blonde had left him “crying himself to sleep”.

As he accepted his award, Farrell said: “I just thought you were extraordinary. I cried myself to sleep the night I saw your film, Blonde. I cried myself to sleep.

“One thing had to do with the music that played at the moment where the shot opens and just seeing her ankles at the edge of the bed. It messed me up so bad.

“Not a joke, but you’re welcome to laugh. It’s not my place to say what’s appropriate laughter in this world.”

The exchange left many claiming on social media that the Hollywood star was “shooting his shot” with the No Time Left To Die actress.

Writing on Twitter, one fan penned: “Is Colin Farrell trying to pick up Ana de Armas on this stage? Respect”.

“Colin Farrell is like us all: he had one clear shot at Ana de Armas and he took it/did his best,” another quipped.

Another commented: “Colin Farrell’s got the momentum. The Oscar is his. Using the speech just to shout out Ana De Armas’ ankles in Blonde is just flexing.”
