The final week of the NFL’s regular season is set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET this Saturday when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Las Vegas Raiders.
Despite today’s return to football, the NFL world is continuing to honor and pray for Bills safety Damar Hamlin. He remains in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center this afternoon but has displayed exceptional progress in his recovery since Monday’s devastating collapse.
With just about an hour to go until kickoff, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes is going viral for the tribute he gave Hamlin pregame.
Take a look at how Mahomes honored his NFL brother here:
Mahomes was spotted before the game wearing a sweatshirt featuring Hamlin’s photo along with two words – “Hamlin Strong.”
The Kansas City quarterback’s classy tribute is just one of many NFL fans can expect to see this weekend. According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, teams and players across the league will be showing their support for the Bills safety in Week 18.
During warm-ups, all players will have the option to wear a custom Nike t-shirt displaying the message “Love for Damar 3.” Further, all 32 NFL franchises will be permitted to color the “3” in each 30-yard line in Buffalo Bills Red or Blue.
Speaking of the Bills, the Buffalo franchise will be wearing a special No. 3 patch on each of their jerseys when they take on the Patriots this Sunday. Additionally, custom New Era hats embroidered with the number “3” will be provided to all Bills football personnel to wear during warm-ups.
Stay on the lookout for more tributes sent Hamlin’s way as the NFL’s Week 18 slate of games kicks off this afternoon.
