The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran quarterback Mike Glennon to their practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel was scheduled to speak later Wednesday and might announce the status of quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who sustained a dislocated little finger on his right (throwing) hand in last week’s 23-21 loss at New England. It’s not known whether Bridgewater will be eligible to play Sunday. Rookie quarterback Skylar Thompson finished the New England game.

Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) hasn’t yet been ruled out for the 1 p.m. Sunday season finale against the New York Jets, but Tagovailoa, who has sustained two concussions this season and three possible head trauma incidents, isn’t expected to play.

Glennon, a 33-year-old nine-year veteran, was a street free agent who last played for the New York Giants last season, missing the season finale with wrist injury.

Glennon played in six games, making four starts last season, and was 90 of 167 (53.9%) 790 yards, four touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 49.8 passer rating.

For his career, Glennon has 40 games played with 31 starts and is 689 of 1,147 for 7,025 yards, 47 touchdowns, 25 interceptions and a 78.6 rating.

Two weeks ago the Dolphins brought quarterbacks Jack Coan and Kyler Lauletta in for tryouts but didn’t sign either. The Dolphins had quarterback Reid Sinnett on the roster during training camp.

The Dolphins have regularly used wide receiver Cedrick Wilson as their third quarterback on game days and until they signed Wilson, he was still their third quarterback.
