Climate activist Greta Thunberg is reacting to the news of former kickboxer and influencer Andrew Tate’s detention in Romania days after the two sparred online.

Tate, a controversial personality, was detained in Romania as part of an investigation into human trafficking and rape on Thursday. News of his detention led to speculation a video he posted taking aim at Thunberg — involving pizza — could have tipped off authorities to his location.

Thunberg tweeted, “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes.”

The saga began earlier this week when Tate posted a picture of him at a gas station with the caption, “Hello [Greta Thunberg] I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s.”

“This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions,” he added.

Thunberg responded, “Yes, please do enlighten me. email me at [email protected]”

Tate responded by posting a video of him sitting in a leather chair, smoking a cigar, and wearing a robe.

He wrote, “Thank you for confirming via your email address that you have a small penis [Greta]. The world was curious. And I do agree you should get a life.”

“Please bring me pizza and make sure that these boxes are not recyclable,” he said in the video.

Newsweek notes there was speculation on Twitter and a Romanian outlet that the pizza boxes may have tipped off authorities to Tate’s location in the country.

The pizza was from Jerry’s Pizza — a chain restaurant in Bucharest.

Additionally, authorities stated they used tracked social media to determine Tate’s location.

However, the outlet adds there is “no evidence that the pizza was the only identifying information used to track Tate’s movements.”
