Dele Alli: Former Tottenham man’s career continues to go from bad to worse

Dele Alli’s rise and fall in football has been one of the most drastic in recent times, seeing the youngster shoot to the top of the game after signing for Spurs, only to see his career fall off a cliff since, with the midfielder struggling for any sort of form.

Once one of the best talents in England, to a player not even relegation candidates Everton want around, despite having one of the greatest midfielders the country has ever produced in the dugout to help guide him.

With The Toffees shipping him out to Turkey, Alli will have hope for a major turnaround in his career away from the media and limelight of the Premier League.

How is Dele Alli doing at Besiktas?

Far from impressive is the kindest way to put it, with the brutally honest assessment reading more like ‘woeful’ or ‘astonishingly poor’. However he still has the second half of the season to change that, which it sounds like he is putting the hard work in.

The summer break may have come at the perfect moment for the former starlet who has just two goals in his eight appearances overseas, whilst that is an improvement on his Everton form, it’s still a long way from what we’d expect from him.

Often lauded for his creative output, he’s struggled in that aspect of his game this season, adding his two games for Everton to his time in Turkey, he is yet to lay a goal on for a teammate this season, despite 10 outings.

After playing a major role in bringing the Englishman in, Ceyhun Kazanci has been left far from impressed with Alli, claiming: “No-one can answer whether Dele Alli can do it right now. He is working very hard. He is a player who reached €100million three years ago. He had a fall.

“Dele Alli is working intensively. We had intense talks with him before we signed him. Senol is famous for returning many players whose careers have been on the decline. We hope that he will be better in the second half of the season.”

The frustrations with Alli spread to his manager, Senol Gunes, who after hooking the midfielder at half-time earlier in the season claimed: “I couldn’t affect the players. Now I can easily touch them but we haven’t touched Dele Alli yet. Let’s not discuss Dele Alli as a player but he is below expectations in terms of efficiency.”
