Goodwin has reached the end zone four times this season, but he hasn’t been a consistent fantasy option this season. With Lockett potentially out of the picture, he could be a real flex consideration in Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Is Goodwin worth picking up for fantasy football Week 16? Let’s find out.
Tyler Lockett Injury Update
Lockett (finger) is expected to have surgery to fix and stabilize his fractured index finger, according to a source. It’s possible that Lockett only misses one game and is back for the final two games of the regular season, but a firm timetable will be available after he has surgery. Lockett officially suffered a spiral crack in his first metacarpal when he went to make a catch low on an incompletion during the final drive of the game on Thursday.

As a top-10 fantasy wideout this year, losing Lockett is a big blow for the Seahawks and fantasy managers that are still in contention for a title in 2022, but this opens the door for Goodwin and tight end Noah Fant.
Should I Add Marquise Goodwin Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
Since the Kansas City Chiefs have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers thus far this season and the Seahawks offense has a high-powered passing attack, Goodwin is a great pickup for Week 16 and can be started immediately in the flex spot.
Kansas City will likely score with ease in the contest, so Geno Smith will have to attempt a ton of passes to try and keep up. Goodwin has 27 catches for 387 yards and four touchdowns this season and in an expanded role, he has WR3 or WR2 upside.
Geno Smith initially was looking at Marquise Goodwin as first read on a crosser, then worked back to wide open Noah Fant down the seam for #Seahawks lone touchdown.
Surprised they didn't attack with tight ends more often early in the game. pic.twitter.com/5NkIVc07hQ

Goodwin could be a mere boom-or-bust play, but in the fantasy football playoffs, it’s time to play for upside rather than a safe floor and low ceiling. Goodwin has week-winning upside.
