Martin Tyler’s bizarre verdict on Leicester City transfer target leaves people baffled

Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler has sparked confusion by comparing Leicester City transfer target Azzedine Ounahi to Premier League winning hero N’Golo Kanté.

Tyler made the comments as Ounahi’s Morocco crashed out of the World Cup in the semi-finals, when their scintillating run in the tournament was cruelly ended by France. His form for club and country in recent times has earned him interest from Leicester City, with talk of a bid in the region of £40 million.

“He’s N’Golo Kante 10 years younger,” Tyler claimed about Ounahi, who turns 23 in April while Kante is 32 in March. Below is a look at what football fans have been saying in response to Tyler’s comments.

ps1_ne : Shouldn’t that be Amrabat? This guy’s more of a playmaker isn’t he?

adioctaybs : No, it’s totally different…it does not mean he is bad, but it’s a different style

simo.amar : Kanté? Did he watch the matches ? Does he know Kanté ? Very different profiles

fpnsky : Literally plays nothing like Kanté

haricric03 : Way more of a baller than Kanté he’s more like Mousa Dembele

ahmed_tay : He has more skills than N’golo with all respect

_asteios_ : Couldn’t be more far off the mark. Azzedine is such a technical player he glides on that pitch. Much more of an attacking minded 8. Opposite profiles
