Latin EDM DJ Chan to perform at Luna Discotek

Luna Discotek, one of the most popular clubs in downtown Laredo, is bringing in a special guest for their Jungle Beatz EDM Posada set right before Christmas weekend. 

Milwaukee native Sebastian Oliva a.k.a. Chan will provide the music on the night, bringing his exciting mix of electronic beats and Latin songs to the Gateway City on December 22. The DJ has been helping transform a niche genre of music heralded by the likes of the famous Deorro and Rayburger. 

“Throughout his career, now spanning more than a decade, his sound has evolved as he has channeled his Mexican roots for inspiration. He fuses traditional sounds with electronic, modern ones resulting in a colorful aural experience and repertoire,” his official biography states.

“Chan’s sets range from moombahton to reggaeton, bigroom and more. Chan, being a first-generation American and son of immigrants, knows that nothing comes easy and that there are no shortcuts to success.”

The electronic music producer and DJ prides himself on coming from a non-traditional musical background. In 2012, he started creating music with free music making software and YouTube “how-to” videos in his childhood bedroom. And it wasn’t too long before his music wound up playing on his hometown radio station 88.9 Radio Milwaukee. 

Chan will perform December 22 at Luna Discotek, 1016 Iturbide St. Cover will be charged at the door. The club will admit those aged 18 and over for one night only in honor of the guest, though you’ll still have to be 21 and over to drink.
