Thunder tip-ins

• Without Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Darius Bazley, Aleksej Pokusevski is starting at center. Robinson-Earl is still out with a right ankle sprain. Bazley, who started in place of Robinson-Earl on Wednesday night, is out with a “non-COVID illness.”

• The T-Wolves also dealt with depth issues. Rudy Gobert, who averages 14.1 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, is unavailable for Minnesota. The 7-foot-1 starting center is out with a left ankle sprain. During his first meeting with the Thunder this season, Gobert fueled the Wolves’ offense with 23 points in a 115-108 win. During the Wolves’ Dec. 3 loss to the Thunder, Gobert was ejected for tripping Kenrich Williams.

• The Timberwolves are also playing without Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been out since he strained his right calf in a loss to Washington on Nov. 30.

• Mark Daigneault said there is a chance Jaylin Williams and Lindy Waters III, who have come back up from the G-League Blue, could play. “They’ll be ready,” Daigneault said before the game. “They’re active. Pre-planned (to play), probably not, but they’re always live.”

• Off the court, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to receive attention as a fashion icon. GQ Magazine announced Friday that SGA is the winner of its Most Stylish Man of the Year competition, which featured a series of polls open to the public. He advanced through a star-studded bracket and defeated rapper A$AP Rocky in the final matchup. GQ lauded him as “the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard with impeccable taste in leather.”

• On Thursday, Thunder players surprised Millwood students with a shopping spree that was part of OKC’s 15th annual Holiday Assist program. Participants were chosen for qualities such as leadership, according to a Thunder press release, and each student shopped with one Thunder player.
