It was an emotional night on Friday’s segment of BBC mystery series The Traitors, as Faithful contestant Theo was eliminated from the competition after making it through to week nine of the show.
In a tense round table, Theo received the most number of votes from his fellow competitors, who believed he was one of the Traitors, despite his claims to the contrary.
Unconvinced by his explanations, the contestants voted to eliminate him, with an emotional Theo then forced to depart from the competition.
During his emotional farewell the star broke down in tears, as he revealed he had tried to “be himself” but was faced with the sad truth that it “wasn’t enough.”

In his poignant speech, he told the remaining contestants: “I don’t have much to say, to be fair. I thought I could make it to the end, but clearly me being me, is just not enough.
As his emotions began to get the better of him, a tearful Theo continued: “I’m grateful for the experience and thank you so much for all accepting me for who I am.”

Host Claudia then asked him to reveal his identity as either a Faithful or Traitor, to which a devastated Theo choked out: “Faithful” as his accusers looked on in horror.
As the truth of their decision began to weigh on those that accused him, many of the contestants appeared to be visibly upset at their incorrect decision, both due to the loss of a friend, but also to having allowed a Traitor to escape detection yet again.
One person who had reason to celebrate however was Traitor Amanda, who managed to avoid detection and moved one step closer to taking home a big cash prize.

“Everybody’s sad to see the Faithfuls going out, and when his name was mentioned I sort of manipulated that,” she told cameras with an uneasy sense of calm.
She then continued: “It was easily done and I love Theo, I love him to bits and think he was a great asset in all aspects of the game, but unfortunately yeah, he had to go.”
Not everyone was happy to see Theo go however, with Faithful contestant Maddy revealing she was going to miss him in the house.

“I was gutted for Theo, I’m really going to miss him and it was so harsh to see Amanda vote for him. That was quite hard to watch,” she admitted to the cameras.
Traitor Wilfred also soon weighed in on the exit, as he turned his attention towards fellow Traitor Amanda for throwing Theo under the bus.
“The more the game goes on, the less I trust Amanda,” he explained following Theo’s exit. “She threw Theo to the wolves really easily and I think in my life I trust people a little too quickly and that could be my downfall here.”
