Sky News host Chris Smith has been suspended from the TV network and his radio station 2GB, after being accused of behaving inappropriately following a Christmas party on Saturday.
He was reportedly making lewd comments and other inappropriate behaviour at The Establishment, where Sky News hosted its after-party following the main event at Ivy Sunroom.
Smith was due to replace 2GB’s breakfast show on Monday from Ben Fordham, who is on leave, but will not appear on air now.

The replacement on air this morning was John Stanley, the station’s Nights host.
In 2009, Smith was suspended from Macquarie Radio Network (now Nine Radio) over another misconduct allegation at a Christmas party, but returned to the station in 2010 in light of his commitments to counselling and show of remorse.
Macquarie Media parted ways with Smith again in July 2019, but brought him back in the same year in December as the Weekends presenter across 2GB and 4BC.
Smith joined Sky News as a part of the broadcaster’s 2020 lineup, hosting two regular programs.
Sky News is making no further comment while the investigation is being carried out. In a statement, the broadcaster’s spokesperson said: “The person involved has been suspended while an investigation into the allegations is undertaken.”
“The welfare of our staff is our absolute priority. We have a zero-tolerance approach to inappropriate conduct and take these allegations very seriously.”
A 2GB spokesperson said: “2GB has been made aware of serious allegations against Chris Smith, arising from the Sky News Christmas party.”
“Sky has advised they are conducting an investigation. Chris has been stood down from his duties at 2GB until the investigation has concluded.”
