LEGO Comes to Louis Vuitton Stores Around the World

This holiday season Louis Vuitton is collaborating with master LEGO® builders and LEGO® Certified Professionals for its holiday windows and store displays around the world. The iconic LEGO® bricks have been used to construct festive scenes that celebrate imagination and the art of creation. The windows have gone live in all Australian and New Zealand Stores.

Snow-capped Christmas trees instantly evoke winter (let’s pretend we are in Europe) while brick-covered backgrounds appear in vibrant arrangements of the Damier pattern. Many of the trunk variations, including those developed for the High Jewellery niches, are panelled in LEGO tiles with realistic hardware and handles.

Other scenes conjure the dream of Paris during the holidays, with highly detailed replicas of the Arc de Triomphe and Pont Neuf. Drawing inspiration from an archive photo, larger-than-life trunks are stacked to resemble the Eiffel Tower – a fantasy composition that shows the limitless possibilities of LEGO play. On a giant scale, the façades of certain Maisons will be further enhanced with exterior festive designs spanning 2 to 15 metres and accented with bricks.

Once disassembled, the bricks will be repurposed through local partnerships so that kids in local schools can be inspired to build and learn through play.

2K Foundations Team Up with Aussie Charity to Renovate Basketball Courts

2K Foundations the philanthropic arm of 2K that supports and inspires underserved communities by investing directly in local enrichment programs, has unveiled its latest project and first in Australia with initiatives in Nyewente and Sydney, with additional plans to unveil a court in Mutitjulu in 2023. In partnership with Charity Bounce, a non-profit organization that aims to inspire positive change to overcome disadvantages for individuals and communities, with a focus on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders and culturally diverse communities, including newly-arrived refugees.

The renovation of the Nyewente court was created with local aboriginal artist Audrey McCormack. The unique backboard depicts the forming of an enduring relationship between the Alice Springs based town camp ‘Nyewente Aboriginal Community’ and the Charity Bounce organization. McCormack set out to bring to life the connection between Charity Bounce and the Nyewente Aboriginal Community with the goal of aiming to support and develop pathways into adulthood.

For Sydney, Indigenous artist Alicia “Bilyara” Bennett was tapped to create the artwork. Bennett, a natural fit as she is passionate about youth and facilitates art projects in Sydney. She created this piece with lines to symbolize branches and leaves that fall from the trees in summer and become one with the ground awaiting their transition into the dust to nurture the land. The Sydney court is a 3×3 outdoor court with the intended purpose of being used by students with disabilities. The project will provide access to more than 70 students with a disability, as well as the local students and community.

The courts are now available for public use, and recently, an opening celebration was held in Sydney that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, pick-up basketball games, and a resiliency skills session for the local youth.

Instagram Partners with ReachOut to Launch Reel Talk Content Series

In partnership with ReachOut, Instagram is launching its latest Australian safety and wellbeing campaign, Reel Talk. The Reel Talk series will showcase how parents and young people can have real conversations together about social media, wellbeing and keeping safe online, before sharing with their communities.

The campaign aims to break down the barriers between young people and parents when it comes to social media use. Ultimately, Reel Talk will seek to encourage open conversations about how social media platforms like Instagram work, how to protect private information, navigating challenging issues like bullying and racism, and more.

Earlier this year, Instagram introduced the next evolution of its wellbeing tools with the launch of Family Centre in Australia. Family Centre is a central location where parents and guardians are able to access the tools and resources from leading experts to help young people stay safe across Meta’s platforms, including the Parents and Guardians Guide.

For more information about online safety and supporting teens online, parents and carers can visit the Reach Out website.

Subway Australia Fights Loneliness this Christmas

This Christmas, Friends for Good has partnered with Subway® Australia to help make Christmas a little less lonely and raise much-needed funds. While presumably one of the happiest times of the year, loneliness pioneers and national not-for-profit, Friends for Good say this Christmas will be lonelier than most without Australia’s support.

To help in their mission to break the stigma around loneliness, Friends for Good have partnered with Subway to launch a Merry Cookiemas film to remind people that a simple little Subway Cookie can help make Christmas a little less lonely. Told through the lens of the lonesome Easter Bunny, arguably the loneliest character at Christmas, the film demonstrates the importance of checking in with friends through the festive season, even those that may seem the happiest, and the power that a simple visit, conversation or shared cookie can have. The film is available to view at here.

Through the E-Bunny website, direct donations can also be made to the Friends for Good charity allowing the organisation to increase their capacity to pay for calls answered by FriendLine and train up additional volunteers to support people experiencing loneliness.  Additionally, On Friday 9 December, Subway will launch a national cookie drive with proceeds from all cookie sales being donated to Friends for Good.

Visit any Subway Australia store on December 9 and purchase a Subway Cookie to support Friends for Good. To make a direct donation, visit the Friends for Good website or to access the FriendLine, call: 1800 424 287.

Moët & Chandon ‘Effervescence’ Illuminates Sydney Harbour with Surprise Calvin Harris Performance

The Moët & Chandon Effervescence event, which took place in a giant golden structure on the point at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, illuminated Sydney Harbour last week. It was the first of a series of twenty Moët & Chandon events taking place around the world in the coming weeks, celebrating the magic of togetherness and of Moët & Chandon.

Taking charge of the tunes, one of the world’s biggest DJs, Calvin Harris, took time out from his global tour to do a private performance for the 300 people who attended. Guests including Georgia Fowler, Michael and Lisa Wipfli, Justin Hemmes, Dougie Joseph, Pip Edwards, Julie Bishop and Luke Hepworth joined the event and Moët & Chandon Friend of the Brand Victoria Lee and Sapphire Project ambassador Ian Thorpe AM led the Toast for a Cause, a generous tradition of the Maison, supporting The Sapphire Project and the critically underfunded area of marine conservation.

Following the star-studded party, Moët & Chandon Effervescence was open to the public for two days of ticketed champagne events. Across the three days of sparkling festivities, approximately 1,800 champagne corks were popped and over 6,000 glasses of champagne were poured, and 10,000 canapés were served.
