Roy Keane divides opinion among Irish viewers after slamming Brazil’s dancing that ‘was like watching Strictly’

ROY KEANE was never going to be enamoured with how Brazil’s players continually celebrated each goal in their rout of South Korea.

And so it unfolded when the free-flowing display was over and the Corkman took centre stage in the ITV studio.

He particularly drew the line at manager Tite getting involved after the third goal.

He said: “I think it’s disrespectful dancing like that every time they score.

“I don’t mind the first jig, or whatever it was, for the first goal, but not every time. It’s disrespectful.

“Even their manager gets involved. I don’t like it.”

He later added: “I can’t believe what I’m watching. Obviously brilliant, brilliant by Brazil.

“Fantastic finish by Vinicius, great start to the game. But I’ve never seen so much dancing.

“It’s like watching Strictly. I can’t believe what I’m watching.

“People say it’s their culture. But I think that’s really disrespecting the opposition.

“It’s four goals, and they are doing it every time.

Viewers both at home and in the UK were split on whether it was a bit much on Brazil’s part as they outgunned an inferior team or indeed whether it was a bit much from Keane in not allowing leeway for players to enjoy a game of football.

One fan wrote: “Roy Keane is my favourite Manchester United player of all time but I recall him calling out Harry Maguire for delivering a robotic interview.

“Brazil score and to celebrate their joy they dance, an expression of themselves and Keane complains about that too. You just can’t win!”

While another person said: “I like Roy Keane, but this is a poor take. I love Brazil’s energy and celebrations!”

OTHER SIDE

Someone else countered with: “South Korea have been woeful. Brazil have been sublime.

“But I’m with Roy Keane on this one! WTF is all this dancing about?

“It’s cringe, good chance Brazil will win this World Cup.

“But I hope they don’t because it’s a team full of annoying players.”

Another person agreed, adding: “Totally agree, good to see Allison not joining in with all that nonsense.”

Lastly, Dave tweeted: “Fully agree with Roy Keane about the Brazil players dancing after EVERY goal.

“After one is fine as it’s their culture and they’ve always done it, but every single goal is ridiculous.”

DIDI NOT LIKE IT
