South Korea vs. Brazil LIVE World Cup 2022 score updates: Neymar strikes from penalty spot to double lead

Brazil lead South Korea 4-0 at the half-time break of their 2022 World Cup round of 16 clash.

Vinicius Jr opened the scoring in the eighth minute of the game when he fired home from inside the penalty area. Neymar then added the second from the penalty spot, before Richarlison scored one of the goals of the tournament to make it three.

Lucas Paqueta got in on the act before the half-time break, volleying in Vinicius Jr’s lobbed assist.

Brazil are on course to play Croatia in the quarter-finals, after their victory over Japan earlier on Monday.

How far can Brazil go?

That was so much fun. There will be plenty of earnest sympathy for Son Heung-min and Co, but that’s a bit patronising at this stage: good World Cups need good Brazils, and this is a ridiculously evenly-endowed Brazil too.

Richarlison should have added a fifth – A FIFTH – before half-time there, and he’ll be (even more) furious not to have done. Expect a pedestrian second half now, but nobody will be talking about that tomorrow.

Richarlison channeled his inner Kerlon before some delightful geometry sliced the Korean defence apart. Could be the most cumulative dancing ever seen on a football pitch tonight.

Richarlison takes three touches with his head and turns magnificently to elude his defender.

He combines with Marquinhos and Silva, brilliant one-touch passing all around, and gets the ball back alone in front of goal, where he coolly slots it into the far corner.

That could be curtains for South Korea already.

Brazil scored three goals in the whole group stage – they’ve equaled that in half an hour here.
