Kansas City Chiefs DE Carlos Dunlap has shown up big in the early goings of his homecoming game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

In the most pivotal moment of the game so far, on a fourth-and-1 in the red zone, Dunlap appeared to know exactly what his former team had planned. As the ball was snapped, Dunlap knifed through the offensive line and tackled Bengals WR Trent Taylor in the backfield for a three-yard loss.

It looked like Dunlap was shot out of a cannon on the play as if he literally knew the exact play coming and that’s actually a real possibility. Remember, Dunlap, the former Bengals second-round draft pick in 2010, spent 1.5 seasons playing against Zac Taylor’s offense in 2019 and 2020.

That stop from Dunlap allowed the Chiefs to head into the locker room at halftime with just a four-point deficit. If Kansas City manages to mount a comeback and win this game, this moment will surely be viewed as one of the turning points without a doubt. The Chiefs should have a ton of momentum coming out of the half and if they make the proper adjustments they should be able to capitalize on both sides of the ball.
