Sparks fly as the J-N-A. Plastering float rolls down Pine Street during Tuesday’s lighted Christmas parade in downtown Abilene.

Temperatures dipped as winds ramped up, and what had been crowded streets rapidly thinned as the procession passed the 70-minute mark.

Tuesday’s high temperature was 79 degrees, reached about 2 p.m. By 8 p.m., it was 45 degrees.

Still, those attending enjoyed the sights and sounds of Christmas as the parade snaked its way through downtown.
