Gareth Bale’s £380,000 proposal to childhood sweetheart – with butler and two chefs

Gareth Bale will take to the pitch tonight alongside the Welsh squad as they take on a mighty match against England in hopes to getting one step closer to World Cup glory. Emma Rhys-Jones is expected to be cheering her husband onto victory on the side-lines in Qatar.

The married couple – who have been together for over a decade and have four children together – began dating in the early 2000s while attending Whitchurch High School.

The childhood sweethearts got engaged in July 2016, and Gareth announced the news on social media, tweeting: “She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won’t forget for a long time…”

In the midst of his 27th birthday celebrations, the professional footballer got down on one knee to his long-term and childhood sweetheart Emma.

The proposal allegedly set the sportsman back a whopping £380,000 after he rented out the island of Tagomago.

Bale whisked his other half off to the island of Tagomago just off the coast of Spanish party resort Ibiza – and it’s fair to say the Welshman pushed the boat out.

The island alone reportedly cost Bale almost £100,000 to hire the private resort where he proposed.

According to a report on telegraph.co.uk at the time, the Welsh star took close friends and family along with him for what would prove to be an unforgettable trip.

The 98-acre luxury getaway is less than a mile off the northeast coast of Ibiza.

The Tagomago resort offers five luxury double suites, a helipad, private mooring for a boat, an outdoor jacuzzi, large terraces with sea views, and it is also fully staffed.

The cost includes two chefs offering round-the-clock service, a personal butler, two maids, a boat captain, a gardener, and a mechanic.

After their fairy-tale engagement, the pair got married in 2019 – a year after Gareth scored a stunning goal in the Champions League final.

In 2016, online holiday site myprivatevilla.com quoted July prices of approximately 120,000 Euros per week.

Bale isn’t the only celebrity to reportedly step onto the stunning island.

In the past, Tagomago has seen Cristiano Ronaldo and former Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood among the stars to step foot onto the secluded island.
