Canelo vs. Messi: Controversial ESPN commentator calls Canelo a coward for wanting to fight Messi

Canelo #Canelo

The Mexican National Team’s painful loss against Argentina has gotten many people angry, including world boxing champion Canelo Alvarez, as he picked a Twitter fight with Lionel Messi, and right after a controversial ESPN commentator by the name of David Faitelson defended Messi in an all-out Twitter brawl against Canelo.

Canelo was angry at the loss

It all started this Sunday, when Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, the best Mexican boxer today, published a series of tweets where he was really angry, claiming that during the locker room celebration of Argentina’s National Team, Lionel Messi looked as if he was cleaning the floor with a Mexican National Team jersey.

Messi and the Mexican Jersey

Canelo threw the first punch”Did you see Messi wiping the floor with our shirt and flag ???? [sic].”

The Mexican fighter was upset by what appeared to be an affront by the world’s best soccer player and even threatened him with his subsequent messages:

“He’d better ask God we don’t run into each other” Canelo continued.

“Just as I respect Argentina, I have to respect Mexico!!! I’m not talking about the country (Argentina), I’m talking about Messi for the shit he did [sic]”.

Who is the infamous David Faitelson?

Faitelson has a history of pressing people to the point where a World Cup soccer player turned Governor named Cuauhtémoc Blanco smacked him silly at a game because he was fed up, a historical moment for Twitter, as followers remind him of that afternoon in ALL of his tweets.

Faitelson Joined the fight

Faitelson chimed in In response to Canelo’s messages to Leo Messi, the ESPN journalist intervened, who is one of the most severe critics of the Mexican boxer, and says that he always seeks to gain an advantage over his rivals.

This time, Faitelson invited Canelo to take out his anger in a rematch against Russian Dmitry Bivol, “Leave Messi alone. Concentrate on Bivol…,” Faitelson told him to which Canelo boldly said ” I can take both of you at the same time”

And the controversy continued with Faitelso:

“Well, you’ll knock me out for sure, but I insist on Bivol. Why aren’t you looking for a rematch with Bivol instead of wasting time on cheap antics? ” Threatening soccer players seems very cowardly to me…”

” You are the coward because when I am in front of you, you act like an angel”.

And then the journalist “pulled the patch” and sent the boxer back to fight Bivol:

“And what do you want, for me to get in a fight with you? We are of different weights you already said it, but I insist: the one who was not “an angel” with you was Bivol. You have to look for him. Not a footballer, not a journalist, you need to fight Bivol…”

There is yet to see what will continue after this, and figure out if Messi retorts or just leaves it alone, as it will probably happen, however, controversy follows these two wherever they go.
