Mike Norvell explains how FSU can slow down Anthony Richardson, Florida offense

Mike Norvell’s FSU defensive unit struggled against Florida in the first half. The Gators lead the Seminoles 24-21 at halftime of Friday night’s Sunshine State Rivalry.

Florida racked up 281 yards on offense, including 130 of them on the ground. Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson threw for 3 touchdowns, and receiver Ricky Pearsall caught 4 passes for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns.

At halftime, Norvell was asked how can his defense slow down Richardson and the Gators offense in the second half.

“We got to stop the run. Obviously, they’re being able to stay balanced with some of their play-action game,” Norvell said. “He’s (Richardson) is doing a good job going through all of his progressions, but if we can try to force them to be one-dimensional, that’s a big key here in the second half.”

If the second half was anything like the first, fans are in for a treat in Tallahassee.
