In recent days, the Italian press reported that Mattia Binotto is about to be replaced as Ferrari team leader. Rumors to which the driver Carlos Sainz does not want to give much importance, suggesting that there is no such exchange on the table.
To Sky Italia, the driver refused to expand on comments about speculation, stating: ‘I haven’t undergone any change of team leader yet and I don’t know what it will feel like. But since they’re just rumors, I prefer not to talk about it. I don’t think it’s necessary because the person who invented this may be someone who doesn’t quite understand.”
Having said that, Sainz described an environment of tranquility and unity at Ferrari, in which rumors and criticisms are already commonplace and can be quickly forgotten with good results:
— I am calm, I see a calm team and I see a lot of unity in the team. These rumors and criticisms will always be here at Ferrari — it’s been that way for decades. If we make a double this weekend, all of a sudden everything will be forgotten and we’ll move on. ‘
