Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. continued to defy the odds Monday night on a stellar touchdown drive.

It’s been a hard road to the regular season for the Alabama alum, who was shot twice in August during an armed robbery. Robinson missed the first four weeks of the season while recovering from the gunshot wounds, though he seemed to be in good spirits after the injury.

Having played in five games and rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown so far, Robinson might’ve had the best drive of his career thus far to help get the Commanders a lead on the Eagles during Monday Night Football. On a play to set up Washington close to the goal line, Robinson used his powerful legs to push through Philly defenders to get some impressive yards after contact.

Soon after, Robinson got the Commanders into the end zone for a touchdown by again using his legs to push ahead and had the awareness to extend the ball over the goal line for the score.

It’s hard not to root for Robinson for everything he’s gone through to get to his first NFL season, and it looks like Washington has a keeper for its backfield rotation.
