Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is one of the elite players in the league regardless of position. He can take guys off the dribble, he can knock down jumpers, he gets to the free-throw line, and there really isn’t a lot he can’t do.
He had everything on full display on Saturday in a win over the Atlanta Hawks when he went for 42 points on 14-for-25 shooting with 10 rebounds and six assists. The big fella did it all out on the floor and he also continues to etch his name in Philadelphia history.
After his latest 40-point masterpiece, Embiid now has the third-most 40-point games in Sixers history. He is behind only Wilt Chamberlain and Allen Iverson. Embiid has 28 such games while Chamberlain has 31 and Iverson has 76.

Embiid and the Sixers are still trying to find their way in the 2022-23 season as it has been a slow start to the season. They are sitting at 6-7 and they will now be looking to even their record at .500 when they host the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
