Report from Ministry of Defense Does Not Point to Election Fraud

The Ministry of Defense sent its report on the inspection of the electoral process to the TSE (Supreme Electoral Court) without having indicated any evidence of fraud, despite Bolsonarist supporters’ attempt to question the victory of Lula and the defeat of Jair Bolsonaro in the presidential election.

The material delivered to the court indicates that the statistical procedures were carried out without reservations and that the analysis of ballot box bulletins did not identify divergences. It considers, however, that there are some problems in the process and points out suggestions for improvements.

The report says that it was not possible to “inspect the [electronic voting] system completely” and suggested that the TSE carry out a technical investigation to determine possible risks of changes in the source code of electoral systems due to possible network access in the generation of programs.

In a note, the president of the TSE, justice Alexandre de Moraes, thanked the Ministry of Defense for sending their report and said he would analyze the suggestions in due course.
