There are a plethora of social media platforms available at our fingertips, but without a doubt, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok are three of the largest. Over the past year or so, Twitter has been working on improving the overall user experience as we’ve seen the company testing the ability to edit Tweets, along with other features. But more recently, Twitter Blue was introduced, giving Twitter users a way to gain access to features that you won’t find if you are just using the “normal” and free version of the service.

In a world where app subscriptions never stop cropping up, Twitter is throwing its name in the ring with Twitter Blue. Originally, this was available for $2.99 per month, before the price was increased to $4.99. With the latest batch of updates to Twitter Blue, following its acquisition by Elon Musk, the price has been raised all the way up to $8.99 per month.

Understandably so, you might be wondering what Twitter Blue is and how to sign up for Twitter Blue. Currently, the only way to sign up for the most recent version of Twitter Blue is limited to iPhone owners, as Android users and those who want to sign up via the web will not be able to. This comes as a bit of a surprise given that Apple takes 30% of any in-app purchases, so we expect this to change over the coming months.

As for what Twitter Blue includes, here’s the list of the different features and options that you will find if you decide to sign up for Twitter Blue:

  • All Blue subscribers get a verified account and a blue checkmark.
  • Get early access: Get early access to select new features with Twitter Blue Labs.
  • Edit Tweet: Edit Tweets up to 5 times within 30 minutes of Tweeting. Your edit history is visible to anyone who wants to see the evolution of a Tweet.
  • 1080p video: Share your favorite moments with 1080p (Full HD) video.
  • Upload longer videos: Upload and Tweet videos that are up to 10 minutes long.
  • Undo Tweet: Set a timer to undo sent Tweets, and choose which kinds of Tweets you want to undo.
  • Bookmark folders: Organize your Bookmarks into folders and avoid endless scrolling.
  • Reader: Select the text size you prefer for reading threads. Turn the Reader feature on by selecting the book button from within any Tweet in a thread.
  • Custom Navigation: This iOS-only feature lets you choose and save at least 2 and up to 6 items for the bottom navigation bar in the Twitter for iOS app. When you remove default items from the navigation bar, you’ll find them listed in the Profile menu.
  • Top Articles: See the most-shared articles from people you follow.
  • COMING SOON:
  • Rocket to the top of replies, mentions, and search: Tweets from verified users will be prioritized – helping to fight scams and spam.
  • See half the ads: See 50% fewer ads than non-subscribers.
  • Presumably, with Twitter Blue Labs, subscribers will also gain access to features that the social media giant is testing out before it becomes available to all users. You can think of Labs as testing grounds of sorts, meaning that some features might be outright removed, but the company will want to gather feedback before making any final decisions on new features and options.

As a note, if you sign up for Twitter Blue on your iPhone, the features included with this subscription will also be available on your other devices, if possible. How To Cancel Twitter Blue

If you tried out Twitter Blue and came to the conclusion that it’s just not worth it, then you can always go back and unsubscribe. Currently, there’s no way for you to unsubscribe from the Twitter web client on your computer, as you’ll need to unsubscribe and cancel Twitter Blue using the same steps that you would take to cancel any subscriptions on iOS.

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap [Your name] at the top of the page.
  • Tap Subscriptions.
  • Locate and tap the Twitter Blue subscription in your list of subscriptions.
  • Tap the Cancel Subscription button.
