I’m a Celebrity’s Seann Walsh is coming to Leicester and here’s how you can see him

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here fans witnessed the arrival of two new campmates on last night’s show. Comedian Seann Walsh and politician Matt Hancock entered the Australian jungle where they will face the notorious ‘bucktucker trials’.

The new arrivals were confirmed on Tuesday by Ant and Dec – with Dec referring to the news as ‘the worst-kept secret on TV.’ Seann said that, having read a lot of hurtful things that have been written about him over the years, he was hoping that his appearance would be “a new start” and “just maybe change opinions.”

Matt Hancock said the experience would be an adventure, promising that “people will see the human side of the guy behind the podium.” He added that “survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in.”

As well as watching Seann Walsh in the jungle, you’ll soon have the opportunity to see him here in Leicester. The comedian will be heading to the city in the new year, as part of Leicester Comedy Festival.

He is set to host the festival’s Gala Preview Show on Friday, January 6 at De Montfort Hall. The show is the official launch event of the Leicester Comedy Festival, and Seann Walsh will get the party started as the countdown to the 30th anniversary festival begins.

The line-up will include Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Firuz Ozari, Plastic Jeezus, Charlie George, Grace Campbell and Stuart Goldsmith, with more to be announced. Seann Walsh – who was named Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2009 – will also be at Leicester’s Curve theatre on Sunday, February 19, when he will chat to festival founder Geoff Rowe about his comedy career in ‘An Interview with Seann Walsh.’

Tickets for both shows are available via the Leicester Comedy Festival website. Tickets for the Gala Preview Show are £29 and tickets for An Interview with Seann Walsh are £10.
