Waukesha asks for help to create permanent memorial to honor victims of Christmas parade attack

The city of Waukesha is asking people to help create a permanent memorial to honor the victims of the Christmas Parade attack last November.
Six people were killed and more than 60 injured when Darrell Brooks drove through the parade in a red SUV.
The Waukesha Parade Memorial Commission selected two locations for the memorial: a smaller memorial will be downtown, near the Five Points intersection, and a larger memorial will be in Grede Park.
The commission is trying to raise $1.5 million.
“The memorial is designed to support the physical and emotional hurt of today and, for healing today along with creating awareness into the future,” said Gerald Couri, chair of the Parade Memorial Commission.
