Aaron Finch woes continue as record-breaking Marcus Stoinis muscles Australia to key victory

No team has ever won consecutive T20 World Cup titles and Australia, the holders, have endured an uncomfortable start to their defence on home soil. Having been hammered by New Zealand in their opening match, they looked nervy in their second against Sri Lanka in Perth until Marcus Stoinis made Australia’s fastest half-century in T20 internationals to help camouflage the concerns about the form of their captain, Aaron Finch.

Finch looked terribly out of sorts in a successful run chase, jumpy against the quicker bowlers and unable to find any rhythm at all in making an unbeaten 31 from 42 balls.
