Patriots vs. Bears score: Live updates, game stats, highlights as Bailey Zappe replaces Mac Jones on ‘MNF’

Zappe #Zappe

The Patriots and Bears have one half of football in the books and, boy, did it have its fair share of drama. After coming in as heavy underdogs, Chicago was able to jump out to a 10-0 lead through the first quarter. While the Bears were moving the ball effectively, New England’s offense was sluggish out of the gate as they welcomed back Mac Jones as their starting quarterback. That return, however, was short-lived.

After throwing a careless interception, Bill Belichick sent Jones to the bench in place of rookie Bailey Zappe and saw immediate results. With Zappe under center, New England went on back-to-back touchdown drives to claw back in the game and briefly take the lead. While the Patriots were riding the momentum by the injection of Zappe into the lineup, Chicago regained the lead just prior to the half thanks to a Khalil Herbert touchdown and subsequent field goal to put them up by six.

Given how New England’s offense looked, it safe to assume Zappe will be under center for the remainder of the game, which means even more action is about to unfold as these two clubs duke it out in the second half.
