Gina Rinehart’s name and company ‘dragged through the mud’ for ‘no good reason’

Hancock Prospecting executive chairman Gina Rinehart has had her name and company “dragged through the mud” this past week for no good reason, says Sky News host Chris Kenny.
This comes after Hancock Prospecting scrapped its $15 million partnership with Netball Australia due to concerns over racist comments about Indigenous people made by Ms Rinehart’s father in the 1980s.
“Rinehart’s company is a respected player crucial to this country, especially to Western Australia, employing many Indigenous workers and enabling Indigenous communities to benefit from hundreds of millions of dollars of royalties,” Mr Kenny said.
Mr Kenny said Ms Rinehart and her family “also fund Indigenous health and education programs”.
“Despite all this, just by having her company’s name associated with netball, it’s opened up to all sorts of ridiculous claims.”
