PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers fell to 0-2 on Thursday as they dropped a close one to the Milwaukee Bucks 90-88. The Sixers put on a spirited comeback effort led by James Harden, but they weren’t able to finish it off as the Bucks closed it out late.
One reason why Philadelphia wasn’t able to finish it was due to Joel Embiid’s poor play. The big fella had a tough night as he shot just 6-for-21 for 15 points and he didn’t score in the second half as he shot 0-for-7 with three turnovers.
It was a performance Embiid would like to forget as the team moves forward.
“I don’t know if the Bucks did anything,” said coach Doc Rivers. “He just didn’t have a great game. He’s human. He didn’t have one of his better games. He did a lot of other things for us tonight, and I thought defensively, he was pretty good tonight.”
With that being said, Rivers was not a fan of Embiid’s shot selection. He didn’t believe he and the rest of the team were able to get in any type of offensive rhythm.
“We got him 21 shots. I didn’t like where some of them were,” he added. “We’re still a work in progress offensively. We gotta get a better rhythm.”

It was a tough night for the big fella, but with that being said, they played the Bucks who are one of the elite teams in the league and they have a hulking center in Brook Lopez. This will be another game for Embiid to continue to grow and move forward with this new roster.
