A Massachusetts man and woman were identified by police Monday as the two drivers killed Saturday in a five-car pile-up on Interstate 495 in Mansfield.

The Massachusetts State Police said the victims were Roland Roberge, of Norton, and Crystal Blake, of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood. Roberge was 27. Blake was 32.

According to police, troopers responded to the southbound side of I-495 around 4 a.m. Saturday, where they found three vehicles in the breakdown lane and two in the center median.

Both Blake, driving a Honda Civic, and Roberge, in a Volkswagen Passat, died of their injuries at the crash scene, state police said.

A 44-year-old Brockton man and a 46-year-old Attleboro woman were both transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton with minor injuries and expected to survive. A 19-year-old Cumberland, Rhode Island, man also involved in the crash was uninjured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, state police said.

All three southbound lanes at the crash site were closed for nearly four hours to accommodate the rescue response and investigation, police said.
