The Packers struck first on the opening drive, using a 35-yard third-down conversion from Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb to set up Crosby’s field goal. The drive went 49 yards in nine plays but stalled on 3rd-and-5 after the Giants sent a creative blitz.
The Packers got a 22-yard catch from Romeo Doubs and a 33-yard pass interference penalty on Xavier McKinney to set up Aaron Rodgers’ 4-yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard on a run-pass option. The scoring drive needed only five plays to cover 60 yards. The Packers have started hot and look in full control in London.
The Giants are on the board in London. A promising drive for Daniel Jones stalled out following a holding penalty, and the Giants had to settle for a field goal from Gano. A completion of 26 yards to Darius Slayton got the drive on the move.
Big Dog is barking in London. On a clever little misdirection play, Aaron Rodgers found veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis wide open for a 2-yard touchdown with 7:25 left in the second quarter. The marathon drive gained 76 yards over 13 plays. The Packers converted one third down but otherwise sliced and diced the Giants defense with quick, effective gains.
The Giants aren’t going down without a fight in London. Daniel Bellinger rumbled in from two yards out on a trick play to cut the Packers’ lead to seven with 1:15 left in the first half. The Giants got moving on a 40-yard run from Saquon Barkley, and Daniel Jones converted two third-and-long situations with completions. The scoring drive went 86 yards over 11 plays and took up over six minutes.
