Kings’ Brown: Dray-JP incident Warriors’ ‘problem’ to sort out originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Kings coach Mike Brown is the latest member of the NBA to share his thoughts on Draymond Green’s situation.
Talking with reporters after Kings practice Friday, Brown spoke on what was transpiring with his former team.
“It is what it is,” Brown said. “I’m not there and that’s their problem they got to figure out or sort out.
“That’s kind of how I look at it.”
On Wednesday, The Athletic broke news of Green forcefully striking his 23-year-old teammate Jordan Poole during practice. In the aftermath, Warriors general manager Bob Myers told reporters Thursday that Green had “apologized” to Poole and the team for his conduct and that any discipline would be handled “internally.”
However, video of the altercation was leaked and published by TMZ Sports on Friday, showcasing the full extent of the kerfuffle. With the footage of the fight readily available, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski reported, citing sources, that the Warriors are investigating how the video was leaked and are taking the necessary legal steps.
To that end, Brown said that every situation is different and that there is “no rule in a book” that spells out what should happen if a certain event occurs.
“So you just deal with every situation when it comes up, based on the facts, what you know and you move forward as a group, whatever that means,” Brown said.

With Green’s punch seemingly taking the NBA and sports world by storm, it was only a matter of time before the former Warriors assistant coach was asked about the situation.
Kings fans are hopeful that the young group in Sacramento is able to learn from the Warriors’ mistakes and understand that cooler heads should prevail.
