In the wake of injuries to Robert Williams III and Danilo Gallinari, the Boston Celtics will sign six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin to a one-year, $2.7 million veteran minimum contract, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Playing mostly as a small-ball center off the bench, the injury-plagued Griffin averaged 6.4 points (43/26/72 shooting splits), 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 17.1 minutes per game for the Brooklyn Nets last season. His 56 games in 2021-22 were his most since the 2018-19 campaign, when he enjoyed a bounce-back year for the Detroit Pistons, making his last All-Star appearances and earning his fifth All-NBA selection.
